C-103 Niobium Alloy

C-103 is a high-performance niobium-based alloy mainly composed of niobium, hafnium and titanium. It is often described as a Nb-Hf-Ti alloy and is widely used in high-temperature aerospace and propulsion-related applications.

Typical C-103 composition is often referred to as Nb-10Hf-1Ti wt.%. Some supplier data gives the composition range as Hf 9–11%, Ti 0.7–1.3%, Nb balance, with small limits for elements such as Zr, W, Ta, O, N, C and H. C-103 has a density of about 8.85 g/cm³ according to ATI data.
